CHIANG RAI, 12 August 2015 – Chiang Rai province has celebrated Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday anniversary this year and arranged a ceremony to give gifts for “Bike for Mom” cyclists.

In the morning of 12 August 2015, Chiang Rai Governor Phongsak Wangsamer, executives of provincial organizations and members of the general public gave alms to Buddhist monks on the occasion of the 83rd birthday of HM the Queen. After the religious ceremony, the governor led a group of provincial civil servants to take an oath of allegiance to be a good civil servant and fight against corruption.

The governor also presided over a ceremony to give funds to the Mother of the Land Fund and presented certificates to outstanding mothers in Chiang Rai. After that, Mr. Phongsak and high-ranking officers in the province gave T-shirts and pins to the first 100 cyclists in the nationwide bike ride “Bike for Mom”—this year’s biggest event in honor of the Queen.
