Agoda, a digital travel platform, unveiled its statistics on the five most accommodation searches for Thailand’s secondary cities, the country’s lesser-known yet charming cities, during the early rainy season. Among the platform’s international visitors, Chiang Rai is ranked first, with the most searches, followed by Udon Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Chanthaburi, and Trang.
As for Thais, the five most-searched destinations among secondary cities are Chanthaburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Nakhon Nayok, Ratchaburi, and Chiang Rai. Agoda also pointed out a 23% growth in searches this year, compared with 2023.
The data from Agoda reflects the Government’s efforts in promoting tourism in order to bring the potential of all provinces to the global market, and encouraging visitors to see the country as a year-round high-season destination. (PRD)
