Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome along with one of his deputies and other councilors visited the residents of Daraphun Village 2 in Soi Watthumsamakhi, who had been severely affected by the recent floods.
Two days earlier the village had been under almost two meters of water destroying everything in its path and causing tremendous difficulties as 95% of the residents had had to leave their belongings behind.
The Mayor and his colleagues listen to the woes of the villagers.
The mayor and his team distributed fifty eight relief packages and also inspected the area where he stated that as a temporary measure a pipe will be laid to siphon off the water, but as the village is low-lying a more permanent solution will have to be found.
Officers from the Social Welfare Department spoke to many residents about their experiences and problems and anticipate that the city will have to give some financial assistance to these poor villagers.
