Classic films to be screened in Narathiwat’s 100th anniversary

NARATHIWAT, 16 April 2015 – The Ministry of Culture is inviting movie lovers and the general public to enjoy free movies which will be one of the highlights of 100th anniversary of Narathiwat province. 

The mobile movie project is organized by Film Archive, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture. Its objectives are to offer schools and communities in remote areas across the country an opportunity to watch widely-acclaimed and classic films and promote appreciation of this type of visual art.

The movies will be screened three times daily between April 27 and May 5 in the districts of Muang, Tak Bai, Sungai Kolokm, Waeng and Ra-ngae. Among the chosen movies are Dolphin Tale and My Neighbor Totoro. Those interested can call the Culture Office of Narathiwat for more information. The contact number is 0-7351-2833.

The southernmost province, once known as Bangnara, was renamed Narathiwat on June 10 in 1915 by King Rama VI. The free movie project is part of the celebrations of the province’s 100th anniversary.
