The government has welcomed CNN’s ranking of Bangkok as one of the world’s best cities for street food.
Maj. Gen. Sunsern Kaewkumnerd, spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office, said that Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha was glad to hear that Bangkok is recognized for its street food by international travelers.
And, with CNN’s finding that places Bangkok at the top of the list of international cities famous for the variety of tasty local cuisine that can be found throughout the day at affordable prices, Maj. Gen. Sunsern said that the PM is urging all vendors to maintain the cleanliness and the quality of their food while complying with the street order policy so that tourists will find it more convenient to enjoy their experience in the Thai capital.
Twenty two other cities also on CNN’s list included Tokyo in Japan, Honolulu of the U.S. and Durban in South Africa.
