The Ministry of Commerce has awarded more restaurants with the Thai SELECT brand which ensures the authenticity and quality of Thai dishes served at these establishments. This campaign aims to boost confidence among customers at the time of tourism recovery.
The Ministry of Commerce has delivered the Thai SELECT certification to 217 restaurants that passed quality inspection in 2022, with Deputy Minister of Commerce Sinit Lertkrai delivering the awards. The winning restaurants have passed several evaluations that included a requirement of 80% Thai dishes on the menu, the use of standard Thai methods of cooking, the use of Thai ingredients and seasonings, excellent taste and food quality, good venue decor, and excellent services.
Restaurants awarded with the Thai SELECT brand will have opportunities to participate in dedicated marketing and promotional campaigns on social media, including reviews from influencers.
The Ministry of Commerce on this occasion unveiled a special campaign involving the Thai SELECT brand with private firms including wholesalers and food delivery platforms offering special deals for Thai SELECT restaurants.
