BANGKOK, 30 June 2015  – The Community Development Department (CDD) is launching an exhibition incorporating two events into one site – the ‘OTOP to the Town fair’ and the ‘Top Thai Innovation’ fair, expecting at least 20,000 visitors and more than 30 million baht in income during the five-day fair.

CDD Deputy Director-General Saipirun Noisiri presided over the opening ceremony of the OTOP to the Town fair and the Top Thai Innovation festival to promote folk wisdoms in products and services as part of the One Tambon One Product (OTOP) campaign at the Government Complex in Lak Si area, Bangkok.

The OTOP to the Town event is aimed at introducing products of folk wisdoms from all regions to the people of Bangkok, which is the national economic center. It features 400 booths of quality goods. The number of visitors to this event is expected to be greater than 20,000, with a money circulation of more than 30 million baht.

Aside from OTOP goods, the event displays simultaneously native innovations to encourage communities to be aware of the importance of folk wisdom, its conservation and promotion. The event will also honor seven communities winning the competition of folk wisdom conservation, in a ceremony on 2 July 2015, at 2pm.

The OTOP to the Town fair is taking place from today to 3 July 2015 at Building 1 Plaza, the Government Complex, Chaengwattana Road, Bangkok from 7am to 8pm.
