BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department reports that northeastern Thailand is experiencing cool mornings, while the upper regions of the country have minimal rain. Meanwhile, parts of southern Thailand are seeing heavy rainfall, with potential risks of flash floods and runoff in some areas.

Over the next 24 hours, a moderate high-pressure system from China is covering the eastern parts of northern, central, and northeastern Thailand, as well as the South China Sea. This has resulted in cooler mornings in the northeastern region and limited rain in upper Thailand. However, the monsoon trough passing through the south is causing heavy rainfall in certain areas. The public, especially in southern Thailand, is advised to remain cautious of the potential dangers from heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which could lead to flash floods and runoff, particularly in hilly areas near watercourses and low-lying regions.



For maritime conditions, the waves in the Gulf of Thailand are about 1 meter high, rising to over 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms. Seafarers in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate carefully and avoid sailing in stormy areas.
