BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department reports that Northern Thailand is experiencing cooler mornings, with a slight temperature drop expected in the Northeast. Isolated thunderstorms are forecasted in parts of Upper Northern Thailand, Lower Central, and Eastern regions (including Pattaya).

Over the next 24 hours, a moderately strong high-pressure system from China is covering upper Thailand and the South China Sea, leading to cooler mornings. Meanwhile, a westerly wind from Myanmar and upper-level southeasterly winds over Thailand are bringing isolated thunderstorms to the Upper North, Lower Central, and Eastern regions. Residents in these areas are advised to maintain their health due to changing weather conditions, and farmers should prepare to protect crops from potential damage.

In the South, a monsoon trough across the lower part of the region and a moderate northeast monsoon over the upper Gulf of Thailand are causing heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas. Residents in affected regions, especially those in hilly and low-lying areas, should be alert to risks of flash floods and sudden water runoff.

Moderate waves are expected in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, with wave heights of 1-2 meters in the Gulf and about 1 meter in the Andaman Sea. During thunderstorms, waves may reach over 2 meters. Mariners should exercise caution, especially in areas with thunderstorms.

Bangkok and surrounding areas will see scattered thunderstorms covering 10% of the area, with temperatures ranging from a low of 24-26°C to a high of 31-33°C.
