BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thailand Meteorological Department’s 24-hour weather forecast reveals cool morning temperatures in the upper northern and northeastern regions. Scattered thunderstorms are expected in parts of the lower central and eastern regions, with the south experiencing isolated heavy rain in some areas.
This weather pattern is driven by a high-pressure system bringing cool air over the upper northern and northeastern areas, coupled with a strong low-pressure system over the central coast of Vietnam. Additionally, westerly and northwesterly winds are sweeping across the Andaman Sea, southern Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, resulting in heavy rain in parts of the southern region.
Thunderstorms are anticipated in certain areas of the lower central and eastern regions.
Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of sudden weather changes and potential hazards associated with heavy rain. In the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, moderate wave activity is expected, with wave heights reaching approximately 2 meters in the lower Andaman Sea and 1-2 meters in the upper Andaman Sea and the Gulf. During thunderstorms, wave heights could exceed 2 meters, so boat operators are urged to navigate cautiously and avoid areas with thunderstorms.
