Bangkok – The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has held a meeting to draft an integrated plan to prevent and reduce road accidents during this year’s Songkran festival.
The Interior Minister, Gen. Anupong Paojinda, who is also the Chairman and Director of the Road Safety Operations Center, convened the meeting on Monday (Mar 4) to prepare the road accident prevention and reduction plan during the traditional Thai New Year celebration.
The draft will be submitted to the cabinet for consideration. Once approved, the integrated plan will be carried out from April 11th to 17th, 2019, to ensure the safety of travelers throughout the country during the long holiday.
