The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is ready to implement its road accident prevention plan during the New Year festival.
The Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Chayapol Thitisak, said his agency has prepared a plan to ensure road safety, especially on secondary roads, with cooperation from village headmen and community leaders.
Strict vehicle inspections will be performed from December 28th, 2017 to January 3rd, 2018. Motorists aged under 20 with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 20 milligrams will be prosecuted. These measures will help reduce road accidents to a certain extent.
