BANGKOK – The Ministry of Defense has donated 1 million baht to assist flood victims in Myanmar.
According to humanitarian agencies, at least 103 people have been killed and more than one million critically affected by the flooding. Myanmar evacuated parts of a city on Wednesday after mudslides wiped away hundreds of houses and torrential rain threatened further damage.
The ministry of Defense has also prepared to dispatch medical professionals to further aid Myanmar residents hit by the worst flood in decades. Necessity items, medicines and other relief packages are being sent by the army to Myanmar.
His Majesty the King and the government have previously donated five million baht each to flood stricken Myanmar in a bid to help ease the impact of the natural disaster.
