BANGKOK, 25 April 2014 -The Democrat Party Leader may become the lead negotiator in solving the political problems besetting the country.

The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) head advisor, Surapong Tovichakchaikul has said it may be an appropriate move towards solving political problems, now that the Democrat Party Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has proposed himself as a negotiator able to deal with other parties. However, Abhisit had better discuss with the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) Secretary Suthep Thaugsuban first, whether the Democrat party will field candidates or not, including in Surat Thani province.

CAPO also requested that the Election Commission (EC) specify in writing not only details about the nullified election on 2nd February but also the person responsible for the 3 billion baht to be spent at the upcoming meeting on 30 April 2014.

Moreover, the PDRC will have a rally on 30th April while the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) will have a rally on 6th May 2014. The CAPO head expressed concerns about public safety and will make proposals to a cabinet meeting whether or not to extend the Internal Security Act, on 28th April 2014.
