PETCHABURI, 30 June 2015 – The Department of Probation (DOP) yesterday gave awards to its volunteers who had been with the agency for 25 years or longer.
The ceremony was organized during the Phetchaburi Provincial Administration office monthly meeting yesterday.
The DOP volunteer program enlists help from well-respected and financially-secure individuals who assist officials in attitude adjustment programs for prisoners in the province’s correctional facility. They also help with various other projects, from the local neighborhood watch to rights and liberties protection networks.
So far this year, the DOP has honored 11 volunteers with awards for their good deeds and for sacrificing their time for the betterment of society. These individuals spent countless hours over the past 25 years helping inmates turn away from crime during their time at the correctional facility.
