BANGKOK, Thailand – Deputy Governor Chakkaphan visited Bang Kapi District to oversee the implementation of Governor Chadchart’s policy on regulating street vendors in the area, August 30. The inspection focused on the reorganization of trading spaces outside designated areas in front of Bang Kapi Market. The district has recently enforced new regulations for street vending to ensure compliance with the criteria set forth for 2024.

Earlier this year, the district authorities held meetings with vendors to clarify the new rules and guidelines. Vendors were instructed not to display their goods beyond the designated boundaries. Compliance with these regulations will be considered when deciding whether to designate the area as a permanent trading zone. The district is committed to continuous monitoring and is exploring the possibility of relocating vendors from areas with low vendor density to designated zones to maintain cleanliness and order.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve public spaces and ensure that street vending activities do not disrupt the urban environment.
