BANGKOK, 22 April 2015 – Deputy PM for economy M.R. Pridiyathorn Devakula and Deputy Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn will be heading to Malaysia next week to attend the 26th ASEAN Summit
According to Mrs. Apiradee, participating nations will discuss the progress of the establishment of ASEAN Economic Committee and map out the policy regarding the mission of AEC after 2015.
On this occasion, M.R. Pridiyathorn and Mrs. Apiradi have planned to propose promotion of a people-centered AEC, improvement of non-tax measures, development of ASEAN agro-sector into the world’s food supplier and enhancement of small and medium businesses.
M.R. Pridiyathorn and Mrs. Apiradi will also partake in other important meetings such as the 13th AEC Council Meeting, a meeting between ASEAN leaders and ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and the 13th ASEAN Economic Ministers and EU Trade Commissioner Consultations (AEM-EU Consultations) meeting.
The 26th ASEAN Summit and related discussions are scheduled for April 27 and 28 in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi archipelago.
