SUKHOTHAI, Thailand – Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai is inspecting key water management sites across several provinces on Aug 31, beginning his trip in Sukhothai province, where he will meet with local agencies to assess the water situation. The deputy premier has been scheduled to inspect Saphan Chan Beach Dam and Ban Khlong Hok Baht Watergate in Sawankhalok district.

Following these inspections, Phumtham will travel by helicopter to Chai Nat to survey critical water bodies, including Bueng Boraphet, the Nan River, the Chao Phraya River, and the Chao Phraya Dam. Upon landing in Sapphaya district, the deputy premier will chair a meeting on water management strategies with relevant government agencies.

The visit focuses on the management of northern water flows as they move through Nakhon Sawan province, a key area for diverting water to prevent flooding in the Chao Phraya Basin. Phumtham has urged all agencies to closely follow emergency response plans and called on residents in flood-prone areas to stay informed and vigilant as rainfall continues to impact the region.
