BANGKOK, 9 November 2013 The Thai and Cambodian governments have agreed to maintain their friendship no matter how the Phra Viharn verdict will turn out, says Deputy Prime Minister Pongthep Thepkarnchana.

Mr Pongthep on Friday reported that the government was preparing itself for the verdict by clarifying facts to people and informing them of the reasons behind Thailand’s involvement in the case. He called on the public to stay calm and confirmed the government would try its best to deal with the verdict’s aftermath.

The deputy PM insisted that Thailand and Cambodia would still be good neighbors to each other.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will chair a meeting on the Phra Viharn case before the court issues its verdict on 11 November while a news conference will be held shortly afterwards.
