The Department of Cultural Promotion proudly announces the results of the ‘1 Province, 1 Dish’ initiative for 2023! Dive into the rich history of Thai food and discover local dishes that embody the essence of Thai culture and way of life.
This initiative is part of the ‘Thailand Best Local Food: The Lost Taste’ project. Its goals are to:
-Explore the stories behind Thai delicacies.
-Highlight the benefits of Thai herbs.
-Share knowledge and wisdom passed down through generations.
-Boost the potential of cultural networks in organizing sustainable cultural events.
Out of numerous entries, 77 iconic dishes have been chosen to represent each province. Here are some of the mouthwatering selections:
-Fermented fish chili and herb paste from Khon Kaen province.
-Mekong seaweed salad from Chiang Rai province.
-Sweet rice dumpling from Bangkok.
-Ajat Curry from Phang-Nga. (PRD)
