District Chief pushes anti-drug campaign

At Banglamung district hall on June the 8th District Chief Chawalit Saeng-uthai chaired an anti-drug campaign and urged  better cooperation from all the departments to deal with the problem.

The ‘White Factory’ movement is campaigned to tackle the spread of drug use at the 119 local factories registered in Banglamung.

Factory owners or operators are urged to keep a closer eye on their staff as many of them may be using drugs to help them stay awake, the district chief said the employees should understand that drugs are bad for their health and are also illegal and that the penalties are severe with a custodial sentence levied in most cases

The district chief also warned that they have the power to close businesses for 15 days or even permanently if they find that their staff are using drugs.
