BANGKOK, 10 March 2012 – The Department of Land Transport (DLT) will launch a free car checkup campaign on Monday as part of its bid to help prevent road accidents during the upcoming Songkran holiday.
This year, the campaign will be joined by more than 2,000 private agencies to offer free car checkup from March 12 to April 12. Car owners can get the service at any of the places showing the signs or posters issued by the DLT.
In addition, vocational students will be on hand at more than 500 spots on both main and subsidiary roads to offer repair service between March 21 and April 10.
Passenger safety centers and rest areas will also be set up at all inter-provincial bus terminals between April 1-17 to ensure that both passengers and drivers are safe and properly taken care of.
