BANGKOK, 21 November 2014 -The deputy prime minister in charge of foreign affairs has hosted a dinner reception for foreign diplomats and representatives from international organisations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn, on Thursday, chaired an official reception for ambassadors and spouses from 48 countries as well as representatives from various international organisations in Thailand.
The party, taken place at the Foreign Ministry, was also joined by senior ministry officials.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Sek Wannamethee said that the reception has been initiated for DPM Gen. Tanasak to officially introduce himself to foreign diplomats after taking office more than three months ago.
Apart from his formal introduction, Gen. Tanasak assured foreign diplomats at the party that Thailand is still on course to draft a new Constitution, which will enable the country to implement its long-term reform efforts while promoting sustainable democratic rule.
