BANGKOK, 12 June 2015 – The Department of Disease Control Director-General, Dr. Sophon Mekthanon, is encouraging Thais traveling to South Korean to strictly follow medical advice.

According to Dr. Sophon, those traveling to countries with reports of Mers infection, particularly South Korean, should be extra cautious about their well-being. The number of patients with Corona virus and those killed by it has increased.

He is urging Thai travelers to avoid at all costs coming into contact with people displaying respiratory problems, and going to crowded places. They should also wash their hands with soap or alcohol gel frequently.

They must seek medical assistant if they start developing a fever, having a runny nose and a sore throat after returning from South Korea. They should wear a mask and get medical attention immediately.
