Bangkok – The Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation (DRRAA) has succeeded in its dam filling operations and saved 3,000 rai (about 1,180 acres) of corn plantations.

The DRRAA Director-General, Surasri Kidtimonton, said on Wednesday that his department had successfully responded to all requests for artificial rainmaking operations submitted from September 20 to October 15.

Surasri said the DRRAA will continually accelerate its rainmaking operations until October 31, to ensure the maximum amount of water available to accommodate the upcoming dry season.

Last weekend the DRRAA succeeded in helping corn farmers in need of rainwater in Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima province.
