RAYONG, 4 July 2014  – The Royal Thai Police have arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized over 82,000 methamphetamine pills.

The suspects include 47 year-old Somrak Muijaiboon old and 42 year-old Weerawat Bumrung or “Joe”. Both men are residents of Rayong province and were arrested in front of the Krung Thai Bank, Wang Chan branch, in Rayong.

Police received tip-offs that Somrak planned to strike a drug deal in Bangkok on Pradipat road in order to distribute the received drugs to clients in the three southern border provinces.

Police decided to follow him all the way to Rayong where both Somrak and Weerawat confronted police and had to go through a thorough drug inspection. Police discovered the meth pills along with bank documents and other possessions at Weerawat’s house.

Weerawat confessed that the drugs were from a man named “Sua”, who is an inmate locked up in a prison in Rayong.
