CHIANG MAI, Thailand – A strong earthquake prompted Chiang Mai Airport to temporarily suspend flight operations to conduct safety inspections.

According to reports from Chiang Mai province, at 1:20 PM today (March 28), a powerful earthquake was felt across the city and throughout Thailand, causing structural damage to buildings and properties. In response, Chiang Mai Airport temporarily halted flight operations at 1:48 PM, as announced by the Air Traffic Control Center of Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd. This precautionary measure was taken to ensure passenger and flight safety.

Following thorough inspections, the airport resumed normal flight operations at 2:17 PM.
