East Timor leader to visit Thailand

BANGKOK, April 19 – Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao will officially visit Thailand on April 25-29 to enhance diplomatic, trade and economic relations between the two countries.

He will be accompanied by ministers of finance, education, tourism and ASEAN affairs.


Leaders and cabinet members of both countries will hold talks on bilateral cooperation in social and economic development, investment and tourism.

Mr Gusmao, concurrently defence minister, will attend the 69th meeting of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Bangkok on April 29.

Thailand and Timor-Leste celebrated the 10th anniversary of their diplomatic relations last year.
