Bangkok – The Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) recently organized a seminar to gather opinions from investors and private firms on the development of the U-Tapao and the Eastern Airport City project to stimulate the regional economy.
The project aims at developing an aviation hub in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) to support growth in the region. The EEC’s major transport infrastructures include U-Tapao Airport, Laem Chabang Port, Map Ta Phut Pier, and Sattahip Pier.
The EECO Secretary-General, Kanit Sangsubhan, said at the seminar that the current government has planned to steer development and investment in the EEC and has pushed forward many infrastructure projects, such as high-speed trains connecting three airports and U-Tapao Airport.
He noted that it is also necessary to develop the areas surrounding the airport in response to the demand of private agencies and investors who are interested in investing in the EEC.
