Eight-coalition parties to discuss nomination of PM candidate for next round of voting July 27

After the re-nomination of MFP leader was rejected in a parliamentary vote on July 19, Cholnan said eight prospective coalition parties will discuss a nomination of a prime minister candidate for the next round of voting slated for July 27.

Pheu Thai Party leader Cholnan Srikaew has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to stick with Move Forward Party and awaits an appointment with the coalition allies to decide who will be proposed to for the next prime minister vote.

After the re-nomination of MFP leader was rejected in a parliamentary vote on July 19, he said eight prospective coalition parties will discuss a nomination of a prime minister candidate for the next round of voting slated for July 27.



The official appointment date for talks has not been confirmed but secretaries-general of Pheu Thai and MFP has initial talks.

A discussion on submitting a prime minister candidate will be held between today or tomorrow. The responsibility lies with the main parties to find assurance that their proposed candidate will receive sufficient support in the joint sitting of the House of Representatives and the Senate, he added.
