Large crowds have gathered at the Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japanese Stadium) to show their support for their favorite political parties on the first day of the application of constituency candidate registration.
Key figures of political parties arrived together with candidates. They were Prawit Wongsuwon of Palang Pracharath, Prayut Chan-ocha of United Thai Nation, Paetongtarn Shinawatra of Pheu Thai, Pita Limcharoenrat of Move Forward, Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan of Thai Sang Thai, Jurin Laksanawisit of the Democrat, Korn Chatikavanij of Chatpattanakla and Putthipong Punnakant of Bhumjaithai.
The constituency candidate registration will run until Friday at designated venues nationwide while party-list candidate registration will begin tomorrow.
The general election is set for Sunday May 14. More than 52 million people are eligible to vote across 400 constituencies. (TNA)
