BANGKOK, Feb 17 – The Election Commission (EC) is ready for today’s forum on resolutions for holding the pending elections in eight provinces given the unsuccessful nationwide general election on Feb 2.
Somchai Srisuthiyakorn, EC member in charge of election administration, will chair the meeting, which will be joined by government representatives, Pheu Thai Party members and academics.
EC chairman Supachai Somcharoen said the objective of the meeting is to let participants become aware of the EC’s difficulties in conducting the elections especially in Thailand’s South.
Participants will be asked to contribute ideas and solutions for holding new elections in 28 constituencies in eight southern provinces, he said.
