BANGKOK, 12 February 2014 The Election Commission has resolved to hold the election re-runs on April 27 in the 21 provinces that could not conduct polling in some or all of their constituencies on February 2.
After a meeting of the EC on Tuesday, election officials disclosed that the re-run of the ‘early voting’ will take place on April 20. As for the 28 constituencies in the South that still have no running candidates, the EC will seek the government’s input on the issue, and polling for these constituencies may also be held on April 20 and 27th.
At present, only 2 provinces are ready to host elections for all of their constituencies, said the EC.
According to Election officials, the polling dates in April still fall within the deadline of 180 days after House dissolution that elections must be completed.
