BANGKOK, 9 October 2013 – Former House Speaker Pichai Rattakul has called upon politicians to stop playing the games of politics as part of his proposal for the national political reform.
Mr. Pichai was commenting on his meeting with the Thailand Reform Committee on social and economic aspects on Tuesday, saying their discussion touched on national problems in general. He said he had suggested the government draw up a 20-year national reform road map underlining power decentralization, reducing social gaps, and encouraging patriotism among locals.
The former House Speaker also said that in another meeting with the committee today, he would place an emphasis on politicians. He indicated that more and more people have grown tired of witnessing politicians trapped in the politics games.
