SURAT THANI, Thailand – The Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan is set to be a major event this Friday, November 15, with an estimated 7,000 to 10,000 international tourists expected to attend, especially for the Loy Krathong and Full Moon celebrations. Travelers are already flocking to Koh Phangan, with many arriving via ferries from Koh Samui, where they have been purchasing tickets at the Nha Phra Lan Pier in Mae Nam, Koh Samui.

In response to recent news reports about potential threats to Israeli tourists, local authorities are ramping up security measures for the event. The news, which originally came from The Times of Israel, warned of attacks targeting Israeli tourists globally, including those attending the Full Moon Party. However, investigations by local authorities have confirmed that these reports were based on misinformation.

Despite the earlier alarm, local officials have assured the public that the situation is under control. The Koh Phangan district administration, in cooperation with various local security agencies, has implemented enhanced safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for all attendees. Police officers, plainclothes officers, and tourist police are stationed across key locations, including the piers and beaches, to monitor the situation and maintain order.

Pattana Nirattamanont, Superintendent of Koh Phangan Police Station, stated that additional measures are being taken to ensure that tourists feel secure and confident in attending the festivities. This includes heightened patrols at strategic locations such as Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan, where visitors disembark from the ferries.
