The government praised Fawn Veerasunthorn for being the first Thai artist to co-direct an animation film, Wish, of Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said that in the D23 Expo 2022 on Sept 9, Disney announced the ‘Wish’ project on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios and Fawn Veerasunthorn was named as a co-director with famous American director Chris Buck for the project. Wish was scheduled to be on-screen in November.
On Sept 13, the United States embassy in Bangkok congratulated the Thai artist. It wrote on its Facebook page that Fawn Veerasunthorn was the first Thai artist to co-direct an animation film of Disney. It praised her great talent.
Fawn Veerasunthorn has proved her outstanding performances as a story artist for many animation films of Disney including Zootopia (2016), Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018), Frozen (2013) and Moana (2016). She was also the head of story for Raya and the Last Dragon (2021). (TNA)
