์์ธRAYONG,(NNT) – The Fine Arts Department has been informed of what appears to be a set of Buddha’s footprints in the eastern province of Rayong. Officials are expected to verify their authenticity soon.
The footprint were discovered on a large rock in the forests of the capital district. The local administration has reportedly planned to develop the area into a new tourist attraction.
The carvings resemble of a pair of feet about one meter wide and 1.5 meters long. Local officials revealed that a number of residents have already visited the site to pay their respects.
According to the Kached Local Administrative Organization, the footprints were found about four decades ago. The office claimed that it did not contact the Fine Arts Department earlier because the site is difficult to reach. However, the footprints have recently become more accessible and popular among locals, prompting the administration to develop the site as a new tourist attraction.
The local office revealed that once the footprints have been verified by the Fine Arts Department, it will conduct a poll to gather feedback on whether the rock should be relocated to a nearby temple for easier access.
