SAMUT SAKHON, 9 August 2015 – The Command Center for Combating Illegal Fishing (CCCIF) has continued to inspect fishing vessels in terms of license, use of alien workers and installation of tracking device. The center’s latest inspection took place in Samut Sakhon province.

The CCCIF, the Fishery Department and the Samut Sakhon provincial fishery office on Sunday conducted a random inspection of fishing vessels in the province. The fishing vessels were checked to see if they had licenses to operate and if they were fitted with the vessel monitoring system. The officers also checked if they legally hired migrant workers.

The inspection was part of the government’s policy to prevent, restrain and eradicate illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing in Thailand.
