BANGKOK- Food vendors at Don Mueang International Airport have agreed to lower the price of their products from April 10 onward.
Ombudsman Wittawat Ratchatanan inspected food outlets in the airport and met with Director of Don Mueang International Airport Petch Chancharoen and related agencies to discuss the issue of overpriced food in the airport.
The airport’s management later discussed the matter with vendors and resolved to lower the price of ready-made meals from 120-160 baht to about 50 baht, starting April 10. The Department of Internal Trade will move to enforce similar pricing controls at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Earlier on March 20, food vendors at Don Mueang Airport slashed the price of 600mL bottled water from 30 baht to 10 baht, after similar complaints were made to consumer protection officials.
