KALASIN, Thailand – Prime Minister’s Office Minister Jiraporn Sindhuprai has presided over the foundation stone laying ceremony for the multipurpose building of the Khon Kaen Buddhist College’s Educational Service Unit in Kalasin province. The event, attended by members of the Sangha, government officials, and the public, sets off the construction of a new administrative facility to support the college’s academic and administrative functions.
The Khon Kaen Buddhist College’s Educational Service Unit was approved in January 2023 at Wat Klang Phra Aram Luang. It was established with the long-term goal of becoming an independent Kalasin Buddhist College. The institution combines Buddhist studies with modern academic disciplines to support religious and general education.
The unit currently offers a certificate program in Sangha Affairs Administration with 120 students enrolled and a Bachelor of Buddhist Studies degree with 109 students across two academic years. In 2025, a new Bachelor of Political Science program will be introduced in collaboration with Khon Kaen Campus to expand educational opportunities.
The new multipurpose building, located in Phon Thong subdistrict, will be a two-story administrative facility. Its construction is funded entirely by donations from the Sangha community, government officials, business entrepreneurs, and the public, with a total budget of 10 million baht.
The new building will serve as a central hub for academic administration, benefiting Buddhist monks, novices, and the wider community, strengthening the institution’s role in religious and academic education. (NNT)
