YALA, April 7 – Four more bombs exploded in this restive southern province this morning in different provincial seat locations, with a previously-targeted local warehouse being the most seriously damaged.
According to news reports, there were no injuries from the bombs which exploded about 6am this morning.
Today’s blasts followed four bombings here yesterday in which one person died and 28 were injured.
The damaged warehouse is located on Jarupattana Road and has stored varied goods. It has been an arson target several times, with damage this time estimated at more than Bt100 million.
The authorities were closely inspecting the bomb scenes.
Initially, it was suspected the bombs were set by Pattani-based perpetrators.
Meanwhile, local officials in Songkhla have tightened security in the southern province, particularly at border checkpoints in Chana and Na Thawi districts approaching Hat Yai district, following the Yala bombs.
The move is to prevent attempted infiltrators from causing disruptive incidents in Hat Yai, as the Songkran festival is drawing near.
