Free car checkupsfor holiday makers

BANGKOK, 19 December 2013 The Department of Land Transport has announced free car checkups from now until December 30, 2013 in a bid to promote road safety and prevent accidents. 

Deputy Transport Minister Pong Chivanand said the ministry has joined hands with more than 2,000 private institutions including vocational colleges, to provide vehicle inspections for holiday makers during the festive season.

The campaign is to promote road safely and prevent traffic accidents due to poorly maintained vehicles.

Director General of the Department of Land Transport Asdsathai Rattanadilok Na Phuket also stated that in addition to the free car checkups, the Department is holding a mini-motor show as well as providing services to install LPG and CNG fuel systems.

Motorists need only to look for signs “BELIEVE BE LIVE” at the 250 designated spots on major and minor roads nationwide. For more information, call 1584.
