Free rides on MRT Blue Line extension

Bangkok – To celebrate His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua’s 67th birthday on July 28, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand will offer free services to commuters using its Blue Line extension from Wat Mangkorn station to Tha Phra station between July 29 and September 28, 2019.

The Blue Line extension consists of five stations, including Wat Mangkorn, Sam Yot, Sanam Chai, Itsaraphap and Tha Phra. Passengers can ride for free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the two-month test run.

Three trains will be in service for this route. They will take about eight minutes to reach each station. Commuters can change trains at Hua Lamphong station if they want to proceed to the Blue Line extension.
