BANGKOK, 10 December 2013 Army Chief Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha has thanked the general public and officials for maintaining peace during demonstrations and affirmed that the army is not oblivious to the current political situation.
According to Deputy army spokesman Lt. Col. Winthai Suvaree, Gen. Prayuth has been deeply concerned with the developments of the political turmoil in the country.
The Army Chief was quoted to be at ease that the rally did not turn violent on December 9. He thanked the public and officials for showing mutual respect for one another .
However, Gen. Prayuth and the army would keep a close watch on future developments and would do their utmost to assist in helping resolve the political rift that has mired the country in a long-drawn crisis, said Lt. Col. Winthai
