BANGKOK, 24 August 2014 – The prime minister-elect is concerned with reports of people getting hired to do homework’s for students.
Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, leader of the National Council for Peace and Order and prime minister-elect, has been worried about the situation surrounding Thai students after reports emerged that many have hired or been hired to do homework.
Gen. Prayuth said such a situation should not have happened and a big flaw that the Ministry of Education should promptly handle through an overhaul of the country’s educational system — preferably completed before the end of the current school year.
The NCPO leader insisted that Thailand’s curriculum is an issue that needs an urgent adjustment in order to meet the market’s demand for labor.
He suggested the Education Ministry to come up with a directive on the concept of “Smart Classroom”, which was originally from His Majesty the King’s distance learning initiative, in order to adjust the general curriculum for Thai students through support from IT-related agencies.
