Bangkok – Many voters cast their ballots in early voting on Sunday and in Dusit district, President of the Privy Council and Statesman Gen. Prem Tinsulanonda came to a polling station to exercise his voting right, despite news reports of his failing health.

The 99-year-old former prime minister made his first public appearance at the polling station in Sukhothai School since the rumors about his deteriorating health. Apart from the general public, many military personnel came to vote early due to work obligations, particularly those regarding the general election on 24 March and annual military exercises.

Police and city law enforcement officers provided security during the early voting. Representatives of political parties visited polling stations to witness voting.

Huay Khwang district saw the third highest number of voters, with more than 40,000 people casting ballots.
