BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has announced promising news for workers, confirming that the minimum wage will be raised to 400 baht per day next year. The announcement came ahead of a key meeting scheduled for December 12, where Labor Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn will discuss the implementation details.
In a brief statement, the Prime Minister expressed optimism about the wage adjustment, describing it as a “sure thing” for the coming year. When asked whether the wage increase would apply nationwide simultaneously, she responded that further details would be clarified during the upcoming discussions but acknowledged a high likelihood of a nationwide adjustment.
