BANGKOK, 18 November 2013 The Green Group has expressed concerns over the current political situation, which will likely be intensified – especially after November 20, when the Constitutional Court is scheduled to render its verdict on the constitutional amendment.

According to Suriyasai Katasila, the Green Group coordinator, both sides of the political spectrum will most likely be displeased regardless of how the November 20′ s verdict turns out.

What is most distressing, said Mr. Suriya, is that the government has failed to do its job in maintaining peace and order in the country. Rather, it has been trying to maintain its current power by instigating its own protests and mobilizing its own supporters, which, if continued, will pave the way for another coup d’etate, added Mr. Suriyasai.
