BANGKOK, 24 September 2015 – The Government has urged parents of newborn babies to take their children for health checks at a nearby public health center so that they could get health check verifications for use in the registration for a new 400-baht financial aid scheme.
A Prime Minister’s Office release said the assistance follows Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha’s policy which places emphasis on the quality of Thai children, especially in the first year of their lives.
The new financial aid will be provided for 12 months to low-income mothers of babies born between October 1, 2015 and September 30, 2016. Eligible families must earn less than 3,000 baht a month and have no rights to get other sources of benefits from the government.
The parents, as well as pregnant women who are due to give birth during the period, can register for the financial support from now on until 31 March 2016 at local administrative offices in their localities.
