Bangkok – A recent meeting of the Reform for Thailand 4.0 Commission headed by Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha was briefed on the setting up of 40,000 service spots by the Electronic Government Agency (EGA). The various locations are to begin operations this month as part of the government’s plan to digitize public services in line with the Thailand 4.0 agenda.

In August, the government plans to end the need for photocopies of identification cards, home registrations and other such documentation when seeking public service and will replace them with a digital application. The application will be extended to juristic entity documents in October.

In January of 2019, the Citizen Feedback service will be launched, allowing members of the public to indicate their satisfaction and any opinions on public service. The system will be among the first moves towards the goal of elevating the Thai people into the 21st century. The goal includes five principles to be instilled in all Thais; sufficiency, discipline, morality, volunteerism and responsibility. The goal has already been declared in joint agreements entered into by 275 organizations and partners.
